For students not in the regional areas listed above, students will require a myki card to travel. The most economical way to travel is to purchase a PTV Student Pass loaded onto a myki card which gives unlimited travel on buses and V/Line services in Geelong, Bellarine and Surfcoast areas. If students will be travelling occasionally, a topped up myki card may be the cheaper option for you.
New students living in Geelong, Bellarine and Surf Coast areas who wish to purchase a Bus Pass need to complete a PTV Student Pass Application form. Attach two passport size photos and bring the form to College Reception to be stamped. Once stamped, the form can be taken to a train station to purchase a half-yearly or yearly pass.
The PTV School Student ID Pass application is due at the start of 2025. When PTV release the 2025 application form we will make it available to families.
Current SHC students can use their PTV Approved SHC Student ID Card to purchase their PTV Bus Pass annually.
Students travelling from suburban areas of Geelong, Bellarine and Surf Coast who reside 4.8km or further from Sacred Heart College may be eligible to claim a Conveyance Allowance refund from the Department of Education. To claim the conveyance allowance please complete a Conveyance Allowance Form and return it to College Reception. The Conveyance Allowance Form can be completed and returned to the College now, before purchasing a PTV Student Bus Pass.
When you purchase your child's bus pass, please forward a copy of the bus pass receipt issued from PTV with your child's name written on it to College Reception.
If the student is not attending their nearest Catholic school, a letter must be provided from their nearest Catholic school stating that an enrolment place was not available must also be attached to the Conveyance Allowance Form.
If eligibility is approved, the purchase price of the bus pass will be reimbursed to you via your school fee account once the funds are received from the government.
Please note this form does not need to be completed each year unless of a change to your address.
