An enthusiastic group of over seventy Year 10 PA40+ students had a great morning undertaking their Fitness Testing and Screening on Monday 24 February. Students completed a total of 12 physical tests aiming to test their anaerobic and aerobic fitness, strength, power and flexibility.
There were some outstanding individual results however the highlight was the participation, positive attitude and peer to peer encouragement demonstrated by all students - congratulations girls on your excellent contribution to making the morning such a success.
We sincerely thank Team Hemley and their motivating staff for facilitating the testing. Students will receive their results shortly which will enable them to further develop their personal health and fitness goals. These tests will be replicated at the end of Semester 1 providing an opportunity for students to check-in on their personal goals and reflect on their PA40+ journey.
PA40+ is a Year 10 subject that aims to equip students with the tools to instil healthy habits and attitudes towards physical activity. Currently students are being encouraged to explore what type of exercise motivates them and feels good for their body.
It’s all about planning healthy activity your way, every day.
The SHC PA40+ Community Class timetable for Term 2 will be released in the coming weeks and will include something for everyone, ranging from Pilates and Core and More, to Yoga and Express HIIT. We’re also excited to welcome back Team Hemley to SHC in Term 2. The team will be here on Wednesdays from 12pm-4pm offering express group fitness classes at lunchtime and after school, open gym sessions and individual consultations.
More information about the Term 2 SHC PA40+ Community Class timetable will be released shortly!
