Nellie Rogers Equestrian Champ

A big congratulations to Nellie Rogers 11 LORMC on achieving first AND third place in the final of the Chase Equestrian Opal Series, a competition which had riders from all states competing. Nellie and her horses Rocket Rod (Rocky) and Valiant Star (Monty) competed in the Opal Series at the Australian Championships. The first three days were qualifying competitions, whereby in order to compete in the final riders had to rank in the top 50% of riders. Nellie had a great run, coming 1st and 4th on day one and coming 2nd and 3rd on day 3. This meant both horses qualified for the final.

The following is an excerpt from the Australian Jumping Post, which outlines just how well Nellie did in the competition:

The final of the Chase Equestrian Opal Series was the first class completed on the Arilla sand Ring 2 this morning. There were 39 combinations entered, producing a massive 23 clear rounds. The jump off saw eight combinations go double clear which perfectly filled the eight placings in the final.

First place went to Round 1 winners, Nellie Rogers and ROCKET ROD, completing the jump off in 35.36 seconds. Zara Adnams and DINGMAC DISCO KING, round 3 winners, were second in 36.93 seconds, with third place also going to Nellie Rogers, this time in combination with VALIANT STAR, in a jump off time of 39.73.

Well done Nellie, you must be very proud!
