Parliamentary Conference & Simulation Experience

Last week, a group pf Sacred Heart’s budding diplomats, politicians, movers and shakers had the fortunate opportunity to participate in the Parliamentary Conference & Simulation Experience that St Ignatius College is piloting this year.

We were impressed with the calibre of guest speakers (Timothy Bush of Melbourne University, Libby Coker the member of Corangamite, Dr Andrew Vandeberg of Deakin University, and the Geelong Mayor Trent Sullivan) and the highly engaging educational experience of processing a bill in parliament, with all students actively involved throughout the day and eagerly taking on the role of politicians.

It was such a day of rich learning and dynamic discussion, and we are grateful to the Humanities team of St Ignatius College for including us in this unique opportunity for our students to share and collaborate in their learning journeys.

Congratulations to students Emmanuela Deng, Margaret Diffey-Warylo, Lola Gleeson, Isabella Kirk, Akur Lueth, Arrah McCallum and Evelyn Thyer for their contributions and achievements throughout the day.
