On Friday 6 September, the SHC Badminton team drove to Melbourne to participate in the Badminton Victoria All Secondary Schools Championships at MSAC.
Congratulations to the team members - Isla Hanna-Phillips, Ally Croft, Ruby Dokos, Freyja Phyland and Midori Kawashiri (Japanese exchange student) - who all played with enthusiasm and showed great sportsmanship. It was a fun day and our game play was competitive over the day. There were 3 team pools, with our pool consisting of MLC and Wesley.
In the first match against Wesley we played three singles matches and two doubles matches. Midori won her game 7-15, Isla lost by 4 points and Ally by 1pt. In our doubles we narrowly lost both games by 4 and 2 points. MLC was a tough opponent; they took out each match against SHC. In the Semi-Final SHC took on Westall Secondary School, only narrowly losing by 1 point to advance to the next final.
Well done to all students, and a big thank you to Trish Morgan (Coach) and Mia Carroll (Assistant) for a great day.
